Pipe surgery

I am slipping behind again with posts as the varied regimen of work continues. Sammy has got quite a bit of earth dug out and while he was out walking the dog and my wife was out I chopped off a water pipe that was blocking the digging and then reattached it a little shorter. It was just one of those PVC type pipes and I didn't have a proper sized sleeve joint, so I expanded a bit of extra pipe to fit and glued it up. The abscence of family meant I could happily leave the water off for an hour or so while the glue set properly and get back on the computer with more writing work.
It was strange how little mention there was of this anniversary as it passed. To mark the event I have been listening to an interview with Gore Vidal related to the publication of his book Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace that a friend gave me ages ago as being of potential interest. The question remains, what led to the creation of human beings capable of making the events of 911 a disgusting reality. As Japan was forced into perpetrating Pearl harbor by the President of the time, were the hands of these people also forced? I suspect that the fact that America has made more than 200 unilateral armed incursions into other countries since around 1950 is a big hint. The current President has decided to mark this anniversary, too. We now hear in the media that they are now considering strikes in Pakistan because there are "Terrorists" there. If you are a journalist, please start telling the American people what is actually happening. I notice from my little map of visitors that middle america is certainly not interested in listening to me.
